About Dr. Nancy Chun

Nancy Chun, MD, is a board-certified physician trained in internal medicine, hematology, and medical oncology, with a foundation in biomedical engineering (aka, a total badass). She approaches care through evidence, physiology, and lived experience—especially when medicine leaves people without clear answers.

The work behind the Nancy Chun Formula began not as a product idea, but as a personal need.

How Dr. Nancy identified a medical blind spot

The care she needed didn’t exist—so she created it

After discontinuing hormone replacement therapy and undergoing breast cancer treatment, Dr. Nancy experienced sudden and persistent external intimate discomfort.

Symptoms appeared quickly:

They affected the vulva, perineum, and anal area—areas rarely discussed clearly in medical settings.

Even with medical training and precise language, speaking about these symptoms felt uncomfortable. Knowledge doesn’t make vulnerability easier.

That silence—both cultural and clinical—was part of the problem.

An oversight in medical training

Physicians are rarely taught how to address external intimate skin health.

In medical education:

Clinical guidance may recommend “moisturizing” without specifying what is safe or effective for external use—or providing guidance on how products should be applied and used within a comprehensive external care system.

This isn’t negligence.

It’s a structural blind spot.

One that leaves women without clear guidance—and providers without better tools.

As a physician board-certified in internal medicine, hematology, and medical oncology—and a member of professional organizations including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the International Society for Sexual Medicine, and the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health—Dr. Nancy recognized this gap because she was living inside it.

Treating connected anatomy as connected care

The vulva, perineum, and anal area function as one connected external region.

Estrogen receptors are present throughout this area. When estrogen levels change—during perimenopause, postmenopause, or medical treatment—the entire region responds.

Yet care has traditionally been:

Dr. Nancy approached the problem the way she approaches medicine: by looking at the whole system, not isolated parts—and by identifying unmet needs and building solutions where none yet exist.

Addressing what medicine overlooked

The mission behind Nancy Chun Formula

Dr. Nancy’s mission is simple:

To provide physician-formulated care for an area that medicine has long overlooked

She created the formula to:

Support hormone-related skin changes

Soothe without irritation

Treat the entire external intimate area as one system

Relief shouldn’t feel revolutionary.

But when an entire region of the body has been minimized or ignored, restoring comfort becomes an act of respect.

Comfort is healthcare. Sensuality—defined as ease, softness, and embodied comfort—is worth preserving.

You don’t have to live like this. Relief is allowed.
